National Opera Canberra Announces Inspiring 2026 Season
National Opera Canberra is proud to unveil its 2026 season—an ambitious and uplifting program that places local artists at the heart of everything we do.
Under the artistic leadership of Sonia Anfiloff, the company continues its evolution as a vibrant, community-driven organisation, creating meaningful performance and development opportunities for singers at every stage of their journey. From emerging artists to seasoned professionals, the 2026 season celebrates the depth of operatic talent within the ACT and beyond.
At the centre of the season is a dynamic program of performances and training opportunities. The National Opera Masterclass Series in June offers intensive development with leading practitioners, supporting singers to refine their craft and build confidence in performance and audition settings.
Audiences will also be treated to a rich concert program, including La Fiamma dell’Opera, a passionate celebration of operatic fire and brilliance, alongside a series of intimate performances that bring artists and audiences closer together.
“Our focus in 2026 is on connection—between artists and audiences, learning and performance, and tradition and innovation,” said Artistic Director Sonia Anfiloff. “We are proud to provide a platform where local voices can thrive.”
Supported by our community and valued partners, National Opera Canberra continues to champion accessible, high-quality opera while building a sustainable future for the artform in our region.
